Why Islamic Banking?
The Motley Fool (UK) has a good article on why non-Muslims in the U.K. might prefer to switch from conventional banks to Islamic banks.

My areas of focus within Islamic finance are its growth within non-Muslim-majority countries, microfinance and the interaction of Islamic finance with other forms of ethical finance.
I presented a paper on a murabaha and musharaka based microfinance model at the 8th Havard University Forum on Islamic Finance in April 2008.
I serve as Chief Compliance Officer of Marquam Capital, an investment advisory firm specializing in ethical investing.
Between 2006 to 2008, I served as executive director of the Institute of Halal Investing, a think tank working to demystify Islamic finance among Muslims and non-Muslims.
